Main components of vanilla are vanillin and other odorous substances, including the esters of piperonal and cinnamic acid. In addition, it is rich in citric acid, tannins and sugars. Vanilla extract is utilized for its moisturizing, emollient, antioxidant, astringent and antibacterial properties.
