Willow bark

Used in tanning and as a source of the chemical substance called ‘salicin’ in pharmaceuticals, willow bark is employed in cosmetics for its astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a cleansing effect and is particularly effective in combating dandruff.
